What kind of warehouse is suitable for using mezzanine shelves?
Loft racking is a uniquely structured warehousing solution, characterized by its multi-layer design, which enables employees to move goods on the upper layer of the racking. Compared with traditional single-layer shelves, the advantage of this design lies in its ability to make more efficient use of the vertical space in the warehouse and provide higher structural stability. In addition, mezzanine shelves can be flexibly designed into multi-layer structures and equipped with stairs, handrails and freight elevators to meet different storage needs.
Which type of warehouse is suitable for installing mezzanine shelves?
1、It is recommended that the height of the warehouse be at least 3 meters. Loft shelving is a multi-layer structure that can be designed with two or more layers. Generally, the height of each floor should be set at more than 2 meters, as warehouse space below 3 meters is difficult to be effectively designed as mezzanine shelves.
2、The area of the warehouse should be at least 30 square meters. Mezzanine racks are multi-layered structures suitable for storing goods of various sizes and quantities. The storage and retrieval processes of these goods mainly rely on manual operations. Under normal circumstances, hydraulic lifting platforms or cargo elevators are used to transport goods to the second and third floors, and then light trucks or hydraulic pallet trucks carry the goods to the designated locations. Therefore, if the warehouse space is too small, mechanical equipment cannot be used to assist in the storage and retrieval of goods.
The load-bearing capacity per square meter of mezzanine shelves usually does not exceed 500 kilograms, and the layer spacing is generally between 2.2 meters and 2.7 meters, which fully takes into account the convenience of operation for the staff. This type of shelf has been widely applied in multiple fields such as auto parts, auto 4S stores, light industry, and the electronics industry.
