Daily maintenance of the mezzanine rack

The loft-style shelving system is constructed by using a shelving structure to build a second floor or multiple floors of a loft-like system in a warehouse or factory, thereby creating more usable space. The loft-style shelving can meet customers' requirements in terms of precise dimensions, weight, color, etc. Currently, the loft-style shelving is widely applied in industries such as electronics and home textiles. It has become one of the essential products for storage. As warehouse managers, in addition to understanding the convenience that the loft-style shelving brings to the utilization rate of the warehouse, we also need to understand how to maintain it daily to extend the service life of the shelving.

1. Prohibition of Overloading
   For all types of shelves, there are specific load-bearing limits. Therefore, as the managers of warehouses or factories, we must be aware of the limited load-bearing capacity of the shelves. We must not place overweight products on the shelves. It would be better to mark the load-bearing capacity of the goods at prominent positions on each shelf. Moreover, when placing products, heavy items should be placed at the bottom, while lighter products should be placed on the upper layers.
2. Prevent high temperatures and humidity.
   Although the upright posts and crossbeams of the shelves are all made of steel and their surfaces have undergone acid washing, phosphating and high-temperature powder coating, if exposed to moisture and sunlight over time, they may rust, thereby affecting their service life.
3. Establish a maintenance and care system for the storage shelves.
   Only when the staff members understand and abide by it can the safety and lifespan of the shelves be guaranteed. Generally, methods such as wiping, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting can be used to care for the equipment, thereby reducing the probability of shelf damage and helping the enterprise save costs.
4. The storage shelves should undergo five regular inspections.
   That is, regularly check the tightness of the bolt connections of the shelves; regularly inspect the force conditions of the crossbeams when the shelves are storing goods; regularly check if the components of the shelves have peeling paint and promptly apply new paint; regularly check the stability of the shelves; you can stand on the shelves and gently shake them to test their stability when under force; regularly inspect the connection points between the crossbeams and the columns to see if there are any damage.

This applies not only to the attic-style shelves, but also to any type of warehouse shelves. As managers, it is essential to firmly remember this, so that the shelves in our warehouse can be used for a longer period of time.
