Heavy Duty Warehouse Pallet Racking — Selective Beam Racking System

Every square meter of warehouse floor costs money — and most warehouses lose up to 30% of their storage capacity to fixed shelving, unorganized pallet drops and aisle layouts that were never planned. If your team spends more time hunting for pallets than moving them, the problem is not your team — it is your storage system.

Our heavy duty warehouse pallet racking (selective beam racking) converts vertical space into revenue. Built from cold-rolled steel upright frames and double-C beams, the system gives every pallet its own dedicated position: first-in, first-out access, no digging through stacks, no damaged cartons, no wasted aisle space. Beam levels adjust at 50 mm increments, so the rack grows with your SKU mix instead of being rebuilt around it.

What Is Selective Pallet Racking?

Selective pallet racking is the most widely used pallet storage system in the world. It consists of vertical upright frames bolted to the floor and horizontal beams clipped into the frames at adjustable heights. Every pallet is stored one deep, on its own beam level, and is directly accessible with a forklift or pallet jack no re-handling, no blocking.

Why warehouses choose it

What it delivers

100% direct access to every pallet

Faster picking and put-away cycles

Adjustable beam levels (50 mm pitch)

Adapts to changing SKU sizes

Up to 12 m structure height

Maximizes cubic storage per m²

Steel construction, no wood, no MDF

Fire-resistant, rodent-proof, long service life

Floor-anchored design

Stable under dynamic forklift loads

Key Features:

Cold-rolled steel upright frames 90×60 / 100×70 mm profiles with punched 50 mm pitch holes, diagonally braced for rigidity.

Double-C section beams 50×100 to 80×120 mm, safety clips lock beams to frames, rated per pair with load labels.

Adjustable beam levels move beams up or down in 50 mm steps without special tools; ideal for mixed SKU heights.

Safety locks integral beam-to-upright clips prevent accidental dislodging during forklift impact.

Floor anchoring expansion anchors included; anchor pattern engineered per OSHA/RMI guidelines.

Finish options powder coating in RAL colors (grey, blue, red, custom) or hot-dip galvanized for humid environments.

Modular expansion add bays, levels and frames as your inventory grows; every component is retrofittable.

Application Scenarios

1. Distribution Centers & 3PL Warehouses

High turnover demands fast, direct access to every SKU. Selective racking supports FIFO workflows, reduces double handling and lets 3PL operators re-slot bays overnight when product mixes change.

2. E-commerce Fulfillment Hubs

Mixed carton and pallet traffic needs structure that does not slow pickers. Adjustable beam levels let fulfillment teams create case-pick zones at ergonomic heights and reserve bulk pallet positions above.

3. Manufacturing & Raw Material Stores

Heavy coils, cartons and components stay organized, clearly labeled and within reach of overhead cranes and reach trucks with capacities up to 2,000 kg per beam pair.

4. Cold Storage & Humidity-Controlled Facilities

Galvanized finish resists condensation and low-temperature corrosion, keeping the system stable in chillers and freezers.

5. Retail & Wholesale Backrooms

The same system that runs the warehouse scales down to store-level stockrooms, keeping overflow product organized and rotation-friendly.

FAQ

Q: How much weight can warehouse pallet racking hold per beam level?

A: Standard systems are rated from 500 kg to 2,000 kg per beam pair depending on beam profile and bay width. Your exact rating is calculated from your pallet weight, pallet size and bay geometry we provide a stamped load calculation with every quotation.

Q: Can the beam levels be adjusted after installation?

A: Yes. Beams relocate in 50 mm increments using the pre-punched upright holes, so you can re-slot levels whenever your SKU mix changes.

Q: What is the difference between selective and drive-in pallet racking?

A: Selective racking gives direct access to every pallet (best for high turnover and many SKUs), while drive-in racking stores pallets deep in lanes for maximum density with fewer SKUs. We supply both see our drive-in racking page for density-focused projects.

Q: What finishes are available?

A: Powder coating in any RAL color for standard dry warehouses, or hot-dip galvanizing for cold storage, humid climates and outdoor-adjacent facilities.

Q: What is the lead time for a typical warehouse project?

A: Standard components ship from stock within 7-10 days; fully engineered custom projects typically take 2-3 weeks including drawings and production.
